Character Journals

Through Their Eyes

Hidden Feature

Beyond the standard session recap, TaleKeeper generates point-of-view journal entries — first-person narratives written from each character's perspective.

What Are POV Journals?

Each named character in your session gets their own journal entry, written as if they were recounting the session's events in their own words. It's like reading a diary entry from each party member.

How They're Generated

POV journals are generated alongside full summaries. When you click Generate Summary, TaleKeeper creates:

  1. One full session recap — third-person narrative
  2. One journal entry per named character — first-person perspective

Example

"We arrived at the ruins before dawn. I warned the others about the wards I sensed, but Theron charged ahead as usual. When the shadows came alive, I was ready — my shield held while Elara found the binding circle..."

Requirements

  • Speakers must have character names assigned (not just "Player 1")
  • An AI assistant must be connected (see Settings)
  • Character descriptions from the roster enhance the writing quality
